Nicky and I have spent much of our working lives managing three and four star hotels in England.
We have used our experience gained within the Hospitality Industry to develop Les Vieilles Ombres with a relaxed efficiency and understated professionalism, which will mean that your stay at Les Vieilles Ombres will be memorable for all the right reasons.
Renovating this ancient Cognac estate has also given us the opportunity to indulge our love for interior design. We have chosen a modern style with a distinct touch of French chic – but emphasis has been placed on providing really comfortable beds and pillows, powerful showers with an abundant supply of hot water and well equipped kitchens.
Our village of Bagnizeau derives its name from the fact that around here, 2000 years ago, the Roman legions used the banks of the River Antenne as a natural bathing area. Nowadays you can wander down to the 11th century Norman church, use the village’s impressive Boules court or fish and walk along the river which bounds the village. |
