Bordeaux is a large thriving modern city providing a shopping experience that combines the unusual, the charming and the downright expensive, but there is plenty of sightseeing as well: Don’t miss a walk around Old Bordeaux, and in particular the Grand Theatre, Eglise Notre Dame, Place de la Bourse and the Porte de la Grosse Cloche. However, extensive restoration work is currently in hand so be prepared to see some scaffolding.
